Her apron claims it, her cakes prove it. Michele Reynolds, Davis mom and entrepreneur, has mastered the art of keeping her hands full literally. In addition to being a mother, wife, and full time employee of the Davis Police Department, Reynolds manages her own business making and selling cakes for all occasions. Cake it Up specializes in themed, personalized cakes that she makes from scratch.

Though she has always cooked, Reynolds’ love of baking became more than a hobby as a high school student at Davis Senior High School, when she worked in the high school bakery. “Mr. White was a great teacher. He taught me the tricks of the trade,” Reynolds reminisces.

A Davis local since age 6, Reynolds lives with her husband and two teenage children next door to the house where she grew up. Her parents still live next door. And there are benefits to living next to Michele Reynolds. “My mom comes over every night for cake scraps,” she laughs.
