enjoyed the crisp as the tartness and sweetness played a simple but pleasing duet that ended the evening well.
Upon looking up from the last morsels of our meal, my colleagues and I were greeted by a sight all too common in Davis; the restaurant was by this point empty of guests, though it was only just 9:30 on a Thursday night.
The rich mahogany tables had already been cleared and most of the staff had left, leaving us at the mercy of our friends the Jeffs, and our server Amanda, who had so patiently stuck by us through the entire evening. We had just made the first movements of departure and were thinking that we would make it out unscathed, when the bartender made his way over with three ominously cloudy glasses of liquid and a story about a bear and a hunter. In the end our nightcap included slugging down Jeff’s “swampwater” and laughing with our friends over a joke that included Tamas (the proprietor), a serving tray and a public payphone.
If you happen to have the privilege of making your way into the restaurant you will most likely find that the exterior of Seasons belies the nature of the experience found inside. The warmth of the wood interior and the open oven pair well with the friendliness of the staff, and serve the same purpose as integral parts of dining out. Whether you are looking for an intimate evening with a special someone, drinks with friends, or like us, an evening out on the town, Seasons Restaurant in Davis will be sure to please, and even throw a joke in as well.
